FAQs

Which size wedding dress should I order?
Dresses are made to order to standard sizes from chart below. Simply send us your size with your order. Please read on to learn how to take your measurements...

PLEASE NOTE: Because dresses are made-to-order we can't accept returns unless an item is faulty. As we're an online shop and it's not possible to carry out fittings, we recommend leaving enough time in case your dress needs alterations by your local dressmaker. If you are in doubt as to which size to order we advise to order a size up so it can be taken in by your local seamstress. We have tried to reflect all this in our great prices!

How to measure:

Standard length from hollow (hollow spot at base of front of neck) to hem is approx: 45" (petticoats can shorten length by up to around 2").

Bust: Not your bra size! To get this measurement measure around fullest part of bust with bra on.

Waist: To get this measurement measure around naturally slimmest part of waist (IMPORTANT this might be higher up than you think, often 2-3 inches above your belly button, just under where you feel the bottom of the ribs!)

UK 6 Bust: 33", Waist: 24.5"

UK 8 Bust: 34", Waist: 25.5"

UK 10 Bust: 35", Waist: 26.5"

UK 12 Bust: 36", Waist: 27.5"

UK 14 Bust: 37.5", Waist: 29"

UK 16 Bust: 39", Waist: 30.5"

UK 18 Bust: 40.5", Waist: 32"

UK 20 Bust: 42", Waist: 33.5"

Measure

Can you make to custom sizes?
Sometimes we can tweak our standard sizes, please email us with your measurements if none of our standard sizes are quite right for you. Please note as it's not possible to carry out fittings we can't guarantee a perfect fit and you may still need alterations. We have tried to reflect all this in our great prices!

How long will my wedding dress take to make?
Please refer to individual item descriptions for this information as lead times can vary from style to style. We recommend you order your dress with plenty of time to spare. As we're an online shop and it's not possible to carry out fittings, please leave enough time in case your dress needs alterations by your local dressmaker.

What colours can I have my wedding dress made in?
At present you can have your dress made in white or ivory satin or in one of a range of colours on our colour options page.

Where are your custom garments made?

Although we would love to be able to make all of our garments in-house we would never keep up with demand! Our garments are
skillfully crafted to order by specialist workshops specially selected for their quality and reputation in the industry (petticoats and sashes in UK, dresses non UK).
